Day One is a beautiful duet of a Mac OS X App and an iOS app that lets you chronical your life. For someone like myself living in constant fear of forgetting a significant event or moment, who feeds everything two dimensional through a ScanSnap, this is kind of dangerous territory. Dare I take my hoarding to such great heights?
Of course I’ve purchased it, and will perhaps share a review in the future. Suffice to say it is a great demonstration of why iCloud is a superior sync technology than any other. More on that later.
Was delighted to see that now my iPad can play Amazon Instant Video, it even offers an offline mode giving it an advantage over NetFlix’s offering. My only complaint at this point about Amazon Instant is that when you have an Amazon Prime account, you can’t stream everything for free, but a limited subset of programming.
This is somewhat annoying when you want to watch something and have to check three different places: iTunes Store, Netflix, and Amazon. I ignore the Hulu.
Mac users with a lot of menu bar icons may find comfort in the arms of Bartender. If you’re a neatnik that has a lot of menubar clutter, this will help you stop obsessing over it all. I love that it can show me menubar icons when they’re being used, and squirrel them away under covers when they’re not. Best example is Dropbox or Google Drive, the icon will pop up and animate when the sync operation is occuring, and then vanish when it’s complete. Awesomesauce, guys. Once it’s out of beta I’ll be buying a license for sure.
My site-specific browser that I made in Fluid to use GoogleApps Gmail is being super flakey lately. Not sure what that’s all about.
This website recently moved from a linode and subsequently onto Gandi’s Simple Hosting service, where it is front-ended by Cloudflare. Cloudflare needs a new logo but the service is great. Gandi of course is my favorite domain name registrar mainly because of the exceptionally high level of customer service I get there, not to mention the fact that they’re just so damned reliable.

Does Rep. Steve King think dog fighting should be legal? I’m not suggesting Steve King is a sociopath, but aren’t sociopaths usually indifferent to the suffering of animals?
Extra bonus round, Steve King also believes President Obama was born in Kenya, and that there was a telegram conspiracy to get a birth announcement in the newspapers in Hawaii. It takes a lot of effort to be so ignorant. I’d like to congratulate Steve King for accomplishing so much for the state of Iowa, but I can’t think of anything that he’s actually accomplished other than comic relief for actual leaders.
Equally shameful, Harry Reid engages in rumors by gossiping about Gov. Romney’s tax returns, claiming that he didn’t pay taxes for 10 years. Much like the Teahadis and Birthers will say Obama hasn’t shown us a valid birth certificate, Sen. Reid can say he’s “heard things” about Romney’s tax returns. Romney’s advisor has said that these charges are untrue, but has he seen Mitt’s tax returns? Is he qualified to know that they were even authentic?
The reason people don’t like to respond to allegations like this is that you have to indulge an idiot’s allegations in order to do it. It’s completely pointless and a waste of time. Besides, what is more likely: Romney not paying taxes for 10 years, or Romney making a lot more money during President Obama’s term than President George W’s?
The latter would be more devestating than the former, I imagine.
